Ofcoms code of conduct is very important for journalists who particularly broadcast because they are their regulators. However, some of the codes apply to all journalists working in the industry.
The whole of section five stands out to me because each code is very important for journalists to follow. Section five is called due impartiality and due accuracy in news. This focuses on making sure the news isn’t biased and is correct.
The other code that’s very important to me is in section 7, which is named fairness. Code 7.3 covers everything that people should be told when they are going to contribute to a programme. This is important to me because I think that by telling people who are helping you out everything they could possibly know, it makes you seem trustworthy as a journalist.
