How graphics are used to progress an audiences understanding

When you are faced with a large body of text that is packed with information, it is always good to use graphics to break it down and make it simple.

BBC’s iWonder is a media platform that frequently breaks down large stories with information graphics. Their graphics  are used to compliment the copy. The following screen shots are from a story about space travel.

These graphics work well in the article because they make all of the complicated information simple for the readers who are likely to have little understanding of the technicalities related to space.
