Working with Ray Duffill for the Hedon Blog taught me a few things.
When it comes to hyper-local media, it’s important as a journalist to make yourself known and be involved in the community. By doing so, you’re creating a good relationship with your target audience and you’re creating contacts who are likely to keep you updated with news.
At the biker weekend, Ray showed me all of the different types of social media he is on and how they all generate audiences and keep them interested. I even posted a tweet from the Hedon Blog account with an image, keeping people updated on what was happening.
He also showed me a really useful tool that Windows provide which is called a snippet tool. With this, you can make images a smaller size ready to use on websites. By making them smaller, it allows you to upload them quickly.
