A marathon will be taking place this month to raise money for charity.
On Sunday 10th April at 11pm the race will start from Densholme Farm, Great Hatfield.
Participants are being urged by Hornsea Rotary Club to raise sponsorship for Marie Curie.
Local schools are being encouraged to fight for fair funding.
Schools in the East Riding are thought to be among the worst-funded schools in the country.
A consultation has been proposed to ensure every school receives the correct amount of funds they require to meet pupils needs from 2017/18.
The best funded areas of England currently receive and average of £6,300 per pupil and the worst receive £4,200.
MP Graham Stuart who leads the official campaign wrote to every school across the Beverley and Holderness area for their support.
Mr Stuart said: “This consultation has the potential to increase funding for East Riding schools significantly.
“Having brought forward these proposals, ministers need to hear loud and clear that the people of the East Riding welcome them.
“This is a once in a generation opportunity to secure better funding for local children and we should seize it.”
The consultation is running until 17th April and all members of the public can get contribute.
